A self-taught developer, he spent his early career freelancing for clients worldwide before founding SoftwareBiz in 2017 to give businesses a partner rather than a contractor. He leads the company's cloud, digital and data work and SBConnects, its platform for travel agencies.
Mohsin Amer Riaz is the founder and chief executive of SoftwareBiz, an IT services and technology company that designs, builds and operates cloud, digital and data systems for businesses across the GCC, APAC, Europe and the US. He taught himself web development and system administration and began his career as a freelancer, working with clients worldwide through Upwork. Seeing that businesses needed partners who understood the whole picture, he founded SoftwareBiz in 2017. Under his leadership the company grew from web development into three practices and built SBConnects, a complete platform for travel agencies, OTAs and tour operators. From 2019 to 2022 he was Global Sales Manager for TPConnects Technologies, its General Sales Agent in Kuwait, and since 2023 he has run marketing and, in Pakistan, operations and compliance for Trip Station Tourism. He leads SoftwareBiz with Amer Riaz, Co-Founder and President.

Every story of innovation begins with a spark. For me it was a deep curiosity about technology and its power to change lives and businesses.
That fascination with computers and gadgets led me to teach myself web development and system administration. It became a career built on two things I still care about: experiences people enjoy using, and the reliable systems underneath them.
Before SoftwareBiz, I was a freelancer with a laptop, a lot of passion and even more determination. I spent countless late nights writing code, debugging and helping small businesses take their first steps online. Most of my early projects came through Upwork, from clients who trusted me not only to build websites or fix systems, but to help them grow.
Freelancing from Pakistan also meant solving problems no tutorial covers, like getting paid by international clients without losing a large share to fees and exchange rates. Working through those taught me to treat every obstacle as something to engineer around.
Businesses were not simply asking for development work. They needed partners who could look at the bigger picture.
How their systems connected, how their operations scaled, how their data could guide smarter decisions, and how digital could unlock new growth. That realization is why I founded SoftwareBiz in 2017. It was never meant to be just another IT service provider.
Web development grew into cloud, digital and data work, and then into something I had wanted from the start: our own product. SBConnects, the platform we build for travel agencies, is proof that SoftwareBiz is not only a consultancy.
There were moments of doubt, projects that pushed us to our limits and periods when growth felt uncertain. Each carried the same lesson: resilience and vision win.
Despite the scale, the essence is the one I started with. Solve real problems, build relationships that last, and create technology that helps people and businesses thrive.
